VICAR GENERAL OF ROME WILL CELEBRATE MASS AT MEDJUGORJE

Two Cardinals are among several prelates named today who will attend the 30th Medjugorje Youth Festival which starts on August 1st. The announcement was made on Monday at a press conference jointly hosted by Archbishop Henryk Hoser and Medjugorje’s parish priest Fr Marinko Šakota.

 

Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, Vicar General of Rome, will celebrate the opening Mass, while the closing ceremony of the six-day Mladifest will be chaired by Archbishop Rino Fisichelli, President of the Pontifical Council of New Evangelisation.

 

Other prelates in attendance are named as bishop Jose Rodriguez Carballo, Minister General of the Franciscan Order and now Secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Society of Apostolic Life;  Archbishop Luigi Pezzuto, apostolic nuncio for Bosnia & Hercegovina;  Msgr Dominic Rey, bishop of Fréjus-Toulon, France; Msgr Giampaolo Crepaldi, Archbishop of Trieste; Msgr Vlado Košić, bishop of the Croatian diocese of Sisak; Cardinal Vinko Puljić, Archbishop of Vrhbosna; and Msgr Henryk Hoser, the Apostolic Visitor to the Medjugorje parish.
