THE MEDJUGORJE WITNESS

For the third time in as many years, Our Lady has called for perseverance in prayer: April 25, 2018, June 25, 2019 and July 25, 2020. Prayer has always been an integral part of the Medjugorje message, even in the simple words “Pray, pray, pray!”

Here, the late Fr Slavko OFM, explains how prayer itself can become a joy for those who persevere.

“Prayer itself can in fact become a joy because prayer is an encounter with God, and God is God of love, God of peace, God of light, God who is the way, God who is truth and God who is life. And when one encounters these, then the human heart will be filled with joy, and joy is what the human heart is, after all, yearning for. But also, in order to experience the joy in encountering God in prayer, one must first persevere through times of prayer when one does not yet feel joy. We may ask the question – what comes first, prayer and then the joy of prayer, or the joy of prayer and then prayer? It is easy when the joy is there, but when it is not there, then still the decision and the loyalty to prayer remain.”

Dear children! Today I am calling you to live your new life with Jesus. May the Risen One give you strength to always be strong in the trials of life and to be faithful and persevering in prayer;  because Jesus saved you by His wounds and by His Resurrection gave you new life. Pray, little children, and do not lose hope. May joy and peace be in your hearts and witness the joy that you are mine. I am with you and love you all with my motherly love. Dear children! I am thanking God for each of you. In a special way, little children, thank you for having responded to my call. I am preparing you for the new times that you may be firm in faith and persevering in prayer, so that the Holy Spirit may work through you and renew the face of the earth. I am praying with you for peace which is the most precious gift, even though Satan wants war and hatred. You, little children, be my extended hands and proudly go with God. Dear children! In this peaceless time  in which the devil is harvesting souls to draw them to himself, I am calling you to persevering prayer, so that in prayer you discover the God of love and hope. Little children, take the Cross in your hands. May it be your encouragement for love to always win, in a special way now when the Cross and faith are rejected. You be a reflection and an example with your lives that faith and hope are still alive and a new world of peace is possible. I am with you and intercede for you before my Son, Jesus.
