“WHOEVER DOES NOT LOVE DOES NOT KNOW GOD, BECAUSE GOD IS LOVE”. 1 John 4-8

“I’VE COME TO TELL YOU THAT GOD EXISTS”

I was at Mass recently. The priest mentioned it was the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham (September 24). He then went on to say that people ask why Our Lady appears in apparitions. He provided a simple explanation: “It is to show that God exists.”

His answer reminded me of the very early message of Our Lady at Medjugorje when she said: “I have come to tell the world that God exists.” It also reminded me of the series of dismissal blessings at Mass.

There are four.

• Go forth, the Mass is ended.
• Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord.
• Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life.
• Go in peace.

The blessings invite us go and tell the world that God exists – to witness to our faith in him by our own lives.

Imagine the Son of Mary saying to his Mother: “Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord”, or, “Go and tell the world that I exist”. Is this possible?

It was Mary who said to the servants at the Cana Wedding: “Do whatever he tells you”.

Miracles happen when servants listen and respond, and then new wine, new life, flows abundantly. Prayer is the water, the grace needed to fill empty vessels.
